We got to meet a bunch of neat people at Corban Expo!!

What a great time us staff had as we connected with students up at Corban College. Madi was a great help as she introduced us to girls from her hall. Welcome to Salem!!
And lunch was on Corban! Though not pictured, i did eat and did eat well. Very nice...

Let's see... out of these four pictures, which two people look like sisters? hmmmm... i don't know... i'm just not sure...

As two students give us their e-mail you see Aaron trying to back out of the picture... What would that have looked like? It's true it actually improved the photo :-) Hope to see you Tuesday Sept. 8th at 6:30 at The Cross Road!!

We'll see you at TCR!!

"..but these things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name". This "life" is a quality of life you can not have outside of being saved by and then walking closely with Jesus Christ. This life is not religion, it is an intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe. This life is not rebellious, it continually desires what our God desires for us. This life is not weak, it is full, vibrant and powerful for this life is Spirit led... This life?... looks exactly like the word of God describes it, so at The Cross Road we will value and lift high His perfect word. We look forward to enjoying this life with many of you.

The Cross Road ministry is for ages 18 - 24 years old and meets at 6:30 pm Tuesday evenings at Salem Heights Church. If you have any questions or desire more information, please contact Matt MacCollin at 503-588-0403 or e-mail him at mattm@salemheightschurch.org

Ana Maria

Lori and i went down to Ontario CA to see Ana Maria over Labor Day weekend. We came back very possibly more blessed than she was by our visit. We were able to discuss her faith as she is facing a great trial in the sickness her body is fighting. She is an inspiration to us and a great example of why we do college age ministry. As she faces the treatments for the illness, it was very obvious that her confidence in Christ is carrying her through. Her faith is amazing... She told us that she sees where the Lord has saved her many times before. First in being orphaned in Romania and then being placed up for adoption with a family coming from the states and bringing her to Salem Oregon. Most importantly in the Lord saving her back in October 2007 when she first believed on Christ for salvation; in His death burial and resurrection for her sins. She is very glad she heard the gospel when she did, because she was feeling great fear over her symptoms, though she did not know at the time what was wrong. Immediately after being saved, she said she felt great calm in knowing God was with her. She now sees God's hand in the doctors finding out what is wrong. She knows she is in His palm, though the treatments are difficult. Very cool... A very neat trip with many other things we will discuss with you all later. Please continue to pray for her as she will stay down in California. The family she is with, is a blessing from God, as they are committed to helping her get through the treatments. They and we desire to see her healthy again. Please as you pray for Ana Maria, pray for the family she is with as well.
